We can get rid of mosquitoes with the laser! Few believed the story-bomb launched a year ago. Here it is today in our attention with a live demonstration. Laser “Death Star” was presented today at the event TED 2010 by its creator – Nathan Myhrvold, Microsoft’s CTO and founder of Intellectual Ventures. The Intellectual Ventures aims to develop, sponsorship and promote inventions.

But technology’s emergence was due to Bill Gates, who at the time when Microsoft is at the head asked Nathan to find an effective way to combat malaria disease in tropical countries that makes many victims. According to statistics, one child dies every 43 seconds because of wound infection caused by mosquito anomaly.

In the demonstration was used a green laser to instantly annihilated mosquito kept in a glass box. The active laser lights special issue makes it possible to detect “figure” mosquitoes, so they are not endangered and the other insects.
The technology could be used in African countries, but currently is not known the date when the equipment comes into action.
