Internet – Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

BBC said that the Internet, as entity will be one of 237 individuals and organizations nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize this year.

Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided on a shortlist of nominees on March 9, but the list was not made public.

Even so, those who made the appointments are free to say who had proposed, and according to the BBC, winner of 2003 Nobel Peace Prize, Shirin Ebadi and Nicholas Negroponte, OLPC Foundation founder (One Laptop per Child), proposed Internet .

The Internet has been proposed for the prize for his role in promoting “dialogue, debate and consensus”.

But we find only on October 9 when the Nobel Peace Prize (and a reward of 1.4 million dollars) will be granted Internet.
