Cowon are known for quality MP3 players, but in their native ventures and other markets. W2 is a screen PMP with 4.8 “ and a MID (Mobile Internet Device) equipped with an Intel Atom Z520.
Cowon W2 – seems a PMP, but is actually a MID
The dimensions of 144 x 88 x 27.5 mm fit May 1 GB of RAM, a 60GB HDD or 80 GB and a wireless module / bluetooth. It weighs 450 g including battery listed with 7 hours of video playback. Do we have here a device comparable to the lightest laptop in the world?
The answer is no. Configurations are similar, but differ essentially in the rest. The screen has a resolution of 1024×600 classic, but the diagonal is two times smaller than a netbook. No on-screen keyboard will ever replace the real one, but on the other hand, there is little netbooks that fit into a pocket. Cowon’s W2 portability level is superior to Sony VAIO P. Currently, MID’s will be released only in Korea at prices ranging between $ 533 and $ 658, depending on the hard drive’s capacity and of Windows 7 version installed.
