The year hasn’t even began and the shows are starting to pour. Photokina is a photography show which will be held between 18th to 23rd September 2012 in Germany, its home country.

The main star of the show will be the German producer Leica which intends to announce 2 new cameras, and from what we know, one of it will be pretty cheap. Chances are that one of the models will be named M10 and the other one will feature a mirrorless system.

What more to expect?  A new compact system camera to have an APS-C sized sensor and compatibility with Leica R lenses.

But we will know more as we approach the month of September.

Pictures play a very important part in our lives, helping us capture unique moments and preserving our memories for a very long time. But things tend to complicate especially in the case of group pictures because there is no one who can be the photographer without missing “the big moment”.

This is why, the Mini 7-inch Metallic Tripod is an excellent idea. It has extensible legs which make is suitable for various occasions and can also be carried around in different places. It can support up to 150g, so is perfect for small cameras and telescopes, but the most important thing is that is very, very cheap.

For only $2, you get the chance to use this nice gadget as much as you please. It is not reliable for a long period of time, though, so don’t raise your standards too high!

The Fuuvi Chocolate Digital Camera from Japan has been designed in the shape of a chocolate bar (because “life is a box of chocolates” and “you never know what you’re gonna get”). The digital camera features a 0.3 megapixels CMOS lens, a 640×480 (VGA) resolution, a chocolate-type sensor with 30cm fixed lens for shooting, a built in rechargeable battery, a self timer, silent video recording, and everything is stored on the camera’s internal memory.

Images can be transferred on your computer by using a USB cable. The mini toy is supported by Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. It comes in white, strawberry and milk chocolate color.

On the specifications, TS2 boasts a 14.2 MP sensor, 6x optical zoom and High Definition video. Not missing Mega OIS optical stabilization system, developed by Panasonic.

New Compact Panasonic TS2 will be distributed globally; it remains to find out how it will cost and when it reaches stores.

British Journal of Photography is too savvy not to keep secrets, since it escaped details about the Nikon D3s some time ago, and now provides early information about the new Olympus E-P2. Thus, we find that the device comes with a 12 mega pixel sensor, supports 720p video recording at 30fps and manual focus in video mode.
Also, the new Olympus comes with auto focus tracking, climb a mobile electronic (800 x 600), an optional adapter for microphone and new ways of imaging. E-P2 is not very different from its predecessor; the big difference is the port for accessories, which supports much more than an EVF and a microphone.
